Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS DUBAS The family of Nicholas Dubas sadly announces his sudden and peaceful passing on March 17, 2005, at the Concordia Place Nursing Home at the age of 90 years. Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife Joanne of 62 years; and their daughters, Linda (Brian) Smith and Marta Dubas; his grandchildren, Chauntel (James) Lee and Matthew Smith (Valerie). Nicholas was predeceased by his parents Leon and Alexandra; and his infant twin brother Walter; his sister Ann Wilson; and brother Michael. Nicholas was born in Transcona on April 13, 1914, and received his schooling at Central School. During the war he furthered his education at a Vocational School, taking up carpentry trade. He was employed with the MacDonalds Aircraft plant and after four years transferred to the C.N.R. Shops, where he worked from October 1944 until his retirement in April 1979 after 34 and one half years of service. Besides carpentry, Nicholas was a lover of music. He enjoyed playing in a string orchestra at concerts, festivals and senior citizen homes. He took a keen interest in world politics and following the current events daily. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff at Concordia Place for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. Alan Armstrong officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nicholas's memory to the Parkinson Foundation. A father is defined as a person who is kind, generous, steadfast and wise. The person you turn to for support and guidance, which is unfaltering through good times and bad. For this he is deserving of our Love and Respect. Rest in Peace CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
